For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
Creation Sunday-Forest
In today’s Gospel, God does not ask the world if it wishes to be the recipient of God’s love. God just goes ahead and loves, and not only does he love, but gives the world his only beloved Son, over to death. God’s love is all encompassing, unasked for and undeserved and is also given unconditionally. God loves us, that is, whether we like it or not.
