Vanden Bosch Family

Greetings and welcome to our corner of the world, Nhambia, Mozambique….

Dear friends,
I think we’ve been waiting this whole year to be able to write a newsletter with great news of a finalized adoption. Well, considering it’s nearly June we realized we better just write an update.

No, Zinha’s adoption has not been completed. We have had progress, including a positive social services visit and report put in our file. In addition, we have been assured that our file is on the judges desk and we’ll have court “any day.” This news came about 4 weeks ago. Please keep praying that we will soon have a court date, with finalized adoption paperwork. Once that happens we’ll be able to update Zinha’s birth certificate, ID card, passport and eventually US visitors visa’s. All which have to be completed prior to advancement of the next step.

On April 28th, we celebrated “Zinha Day” and the completion of her 1st year with us. As you can see, she has blossomed into a confident, beautiful young lady. She is not the reserved, shy, fearful child we once thought she was. She is flying through her preschool homeschooling curriculum and, because of here 6 inch growth spurt in the last 12 months, she keeps us guessing whether she’s 4 years old or closer to 6! We continue to pray as we deliberate over her birth date. She is a very clever young girl who always has us laughing.

Nede continues to be the best big sister even when little sister excels at “pushing big sister’s buttons.” Nede’s nearing  the half way point of her 6th grade year! Homeschooling a 6th grader is challenging mom and dad as we brush up on things of 6th grade! Nede has recently joined in the 8th grade Portuguese class at the local secondary school. Through this she’s meeting more friends and enjoying a different teacher. She continues to enjoy her piano lessons and we can’t keep up with the number of books she reads! (Thank goodness for Kindles!) She continues to be a glowing, beautiful young lady!
