Planes, Trains and Automobiles to Holden Village!

It’s an adventure to get there and it’s a blessing to be there!  Holden Village is a Retreat Center in the Cascade Mountains of the State of Washington.  Eleven miles up and into the mountains from Lake Chelan, Holden Village welcomes groups and individuals from all over the world.

This Swiss Chalet style Village was the home of Copper Miners and their families who worked for the Holden Mining Co. during the 1940’s.  When the Village was abandoned due to the cost of mining and the low market value of copper, the rights to the Village were sold to The Church and Holden Village Retreat Center was born – a Retreat Center for the whole Church!

Our group will be at Holden August 27 – September 1, 2017 (Sunday thru Friday, 5 nights and 6 days).  Just to get to Holden is a two day journey filled with adventure!  You can travel by plane, train or automobile!  Details and discussions will be made at an information and planning meeting soon.  July 9th at 11:30am at church.

Group rates for adults are $325 ($65/day).  Group rates for youth, ages 6-17, are $230 ($46/day).  Children 5 and under are FREE!  Non group rates for adults are $400.  We need 15 registered guests to qualify as a group.  Sign up soon!  Our group is limited to 30 persons.  You do not need to be a member of Bethesda to go on this trip!

URGENT Update on the Holden Village Trip – August 27 thru September 1, 2017

REGISTRATION DETAILS

If you plan to go, please follow these steps.

  • REGISTER on line for Holden Village, August 27 – September 1, at:
    http://www.holdenvillage.org/visit/summer2017/  (Note in your registration under “room requests” that you are “With Bethesda, Malmo”).  Please let me know after you have registered.

 

  • AMTRAK Reservations: Pauline and I will be taking the AMTRAK Empire Builder to Holden. If you plan to take the train, I need to know by next Wednesday, July 5th.  We must confirm reservations made for 15 (minimum group size).  After we have confirmed one group, we can add others up to a week before travel.
